Real heroes -- real hero stuff

In spite of the dictates of professionalism, I have chosen -- and you will please forgive the cliché -- to throw caution to the wind and take a more personal approach to this matter by just plainly telling you how Real Hero Stuff came into being:

Some years back, my daughter and I were chatting about super heroes and Christian role models for children. We were quick to point out that we have nothing against the usual super heroes. We both had occasionally purchased such items ourselves -- in one form or another.

We were not out to criticize or belittle anyone or anything. Our only point was this: We wanted to be able to buy Bible super hero t-shirts, etc.  for our children -- REAL super heroes -- and we knew that we were not the only ones. So, why not handle the matter ourselves?

We began to discuss the well-known Bible heroes -- like David and Queen Esther -- who did such incredible things based solely upon their zeal and their trust in the living God. It was God's power working through them -- real power.

David and Queen Esther are just two of the  ". . . ordinary people who did extraordinary things by a power that was not their own."

Our conversation moved on to how impressionable children are -- and how it has been our experience that they have trouble distinguishing fiction from reality. Where that ability kicks in, I cannot tell you. I am not an authority on such matters.

A family friend dropped by during that conversation, and my daughter and I bounced our thoughts off him. His immediate response was  "That's an awesome idea!" And that was it. We were ready to start production -- so to speak. Real Hero Stuff had been born.

Our desire is to provide Bible super heroes as Christian role models for children -- and their parents, too!  The all-the-same look for families is really great. The kids love it!

 Bible heroes were real people who did extraordinary things by a power that was not their own. That's real hero stuff.
